Helpful Hands - Bessie and Mike Hamblin, both disabled, reside in an old (1919) house located at 305 West Brady. They depend solely on Social Security and Medicaid benefits to make ends meet.

A new roof and bathroom facilities have been provided. Also, a new porch across the back of the house has been built. Volunteer labor was used for the project.

bulletDecatur Lumber offered some building materials free of charge.
bulletCity of Decatur allowed free dumping privileges.
bulletWorking under the auspices of our church, we did not pay sales taxes.
bulletTax deductible donations for future projects may be made to First United Methodist Church of Decatur with Helpful Hands on the memo line of your check.
